Tabou Manta 71, NP RSR Evo X 7.8m, Elmo SS 42cm Green.

First bit of wind for two weeks, unfortunately my mates been partying with the bouncing barometric pressure, so feeling a bit sorry for myself I took on of my magic Juju tablets in hope that it would muffle down the partying.

Out at Novara it looked ok, there was a flock of trendsetters out there already and more rigging up, the sole source of sailing credibility was Annie who was going ok(ish) and Paul who was foiling around as is his want.

Because the breeze was supposed to come in after 3, I went with the 71 rather than the big girl (oh you optemistic fool).

Terry turned up, rigged almost the same sized sail as me and then dragged out the white terror of Elmo.

Eventually, got out into the water, the two small insignificant testes which decided to ricochet of the top of my skull when I entered the probably didn't help my head, but atleast the chill breeze was a distraction from other issues.

Unfortunately the chill breeze ( a bit of creative writting refering to it as a breeze) wasn't enough to get my sad and saggy arse out of the water, Terry in the mean time riding the white terror had done a run and was on his way back before I discovered that I could water start.

Terry in the mean time was using not only the white terror, but also his Kiwi super power "tuckneek" which is vastly superior to my "brute force and ignorance" standard operating proceedure. I managed two runs tops speed (again being creative) 22knots, was going to to go in and swap for the big girl and foil when I noticed Terry had taken of on another run with a bit more power to play with so went back out.

The breeze had finally arrived.

The chop made things rather jumpy today but managable, the sun was diabolicle on the return runs, even with polarizing glasses could see a f'ken thing (apart from Terry disapearing into the distance).

A nice session, I miss being able to do the longer runs, I miss sailing in boardies and rash west, the steamer may have to make an appearance soon.

Good times.CoolCoolCoolCool

Another light wind cruise, TOW, 5.6 Patrick play, With Gloria for company, Thanks Gloria, I'm wary now of sailing alone.

used the 60cm board with 25@40/60 weedy.

Did a bit of floating at first, then wind picked up a bit and actually managed a few bear offs that felt like fun.

The 5.6 went well in the light wind, effortless and smooth, but my timing in the gybes has room for improvement. Although this sail rotates without pumping, you need the back hand well back for it to happen. So I'm not getting it to rotate as early as I expect it too.
