Majestic Point, WA, AU

Short sesh at Foilville, on the 450 wing + 5.8.

It was brutally gusty, and not particularly enjoyable, so I didn't stay out long.  Probably should've gone slapping today, it was too windy to be enjoyable on the foil.

Great to get out on the water. Bit underdone but had a few nice runs on both tacks. 6.2 NX. 49 iSonic. 18 Weed speed

Coodanup, WA, AU Started earlier than normal as the Risky Rodent (AKA the one and only Dangermouse) had requested backup for his perilous promenade across the pond with his muppet mate. He wanted at least 100km as backup for his quest.   Wind was cranking already so finally rigged a small sail.  Launched at Nairns end, got no more than 20m having just hooked in, hit a very large rock (don't recall any rocks here before), catapaulted and smashed the shin against the mast.  One big gash and another smaller one.  Couldn't believe it.  Almost called it then and go home and call my mummy and tell the rat to expect no backup from me.    Decided I'd better do at least one to say I at least tried.  Conditions were pretty good so one run led to 2 and pretty soon it was fun.  Leg was throbbing and bleeding away nicely.   Decided, I'd do an hour and call it. Wasn't ideal for a hour or distance as short runs. During this time the leg started swelling like a grapefruit and thought I had better quit.   Then the wind stepped up a notch and other sailors started coming out...figured I was still alive and might as well deliver the 100.  Some teabags came and started playing in the area I'd settled in, (I resisted the temptation to go in and fly the drone through their strings) but they sensed the vibe and went to play elsewhere.   Lots out enjoying the conditions.   Did the loyal Penfold the pathetic agreed distance and called it. Hope its enough DM.  No dropped gybes was a bonus.  Plenty of wind and time to do more but figured leg looked bad enough to give it some attention.  iSonic97, 5.7KAR, FF22(18)

Novara Beach, WA, AU

Sorry to disappoint Flex, didn't get to the 100ks as planned. Had a workout with Elmo in the lumpy goodness at Novara. Might head to Coods tomorrow for a flat water session if the wind is good. Promise to do better tomorrow!!

Melville. 7.4 MA Gen 3, Skalom 100, Speed Weed 31. Nice to sail a decent sea breeze but it was way too crowded for speed runs.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU We were betting on wind being stronger at Liptons, looked good when we got there. First runs produced the best speeds faded away and the channel was interesting chop so gave it away. Slowing went back out to keep Ben company and it looks like the wind picked up a bit. Was fun with a few out AV52 KAR 5.2

Liptons

6.2m 48rapid wsp21.

DId the drive on the forecast looking OK.Decided to use the speed board since its been too long since I've had a run on a small board. Was looking great when I was rigging but it went patchy by the time I hit the water a bit before 3pm. Still fun and stoked to get some Ks on a smaller board. Good sail with boz, ant, kai, rob, tom, ben... GPS died at 4:20 so I sailed back and had chitchat with the boys who had had enough and were packing up. I borrowed nic's GPS and went back out for another 40ks sailing till just before sunset with Ben. Still some fun gusts but fastest run was still in the earlier session. Second fastest 10s run was late, heading back to liptons(!) from pt gray on port tack- ending at the channel marker in some insane chop. Gust of the day for me- but couldn't go faster because the chop was mental there- 2 sec was only slightly higher than the 10 and didn't make the top 5 hahaha. Came in as the wildlife was getting very splashy, and it was russian roulette with the stingrays. Best sail in ages.
