Yippy, wind for a change, been so long Smile Typical Yorkey's conditions, dropped off the plane heaps but not complaining, was hoping to get more K's but too rooted in the end. Off to work so I hope the drunk's are off the road Undecided

Today our usually placid Tinaroo turned into a mass of whitecaps..a gnarley chop prevailed.    1st session before lunch I used 6.6m with my old X/cross Tiga 107l but after lunch changed down to 5.9 and 120l Fatboy.    Found a few new ways to get into water.

Lyn (9418km):

Tinaroo with 105l Screamer and 5.9m Loft 02.    Choppy as all hell but who cares about that when there is wind.    About 10 sailors on dam but they all got tired so I was left out there with no one to play with.Tracks Lyn

Tinaroo Dam busy today, 10 sailors... 1 from Townsville (Nigel). Runs of strong winds then nothing, maybe tomorrow.........

116l screamer 6m aerotech 38 ride fin.

Another day at yorkeys and another 100ks, a good day at yorkeys makes you realise just how nice it is to sail at green island, ugly chop and gusty 15 to 20. Was no match for the Capt'n today after being spoilt at green for so long, will never complain about green island chop again. Iso 96 Vmg 6.0 Venom 30.

Need a bigger fin for yorkeys chop!!!!!

WindFX slalom mid 90's vintage, Aertoech 6.25 Rapid Fire, Clifford Fins 23cm depth x50mm chord 45 degree rake weedy.

Yorkey's is not my favourite place to sail, but wanted to catch up with some other FNQ Mob members and visitors from Townsville. Tried for PB's with distance and hour which wasn't hard as they were quite low.

Happy with my fitness even though I haven't sailed for a month. Laughing

Ahhh, should have rigged the 8.5. was looking OK in the morning but turned to crap. Still managed to get a suntan.

The first photo is a classic!

Do you ever come down, or just sail levitated all the time?

Doesn't look too flat either - anything over 30 there would be seriously quick

Kel, Great photo.  100k's in those conditions is bloody hard on the body (knees).  Yorkeys looks alot like Yeppoon - brown and choppy.  Do you get breaking surf closer in as well?  PS -Those wrinkles are hard to get out of the VMG although bottom batten looks like it could do with some more tension. My 2centsUndecided

Sailpilot - I've finally come to the conclusion that whatever sail you think will be good go the next size up - 9 out of 10 times you don't go wrong.  PS - hows the new Loft 8.5.  I'm very pleased with the CRed 8.8 (apart from it turning up with a broken batten but all fixed now)

Great to see all you guys on the water and congrats to Pete and Bob for the PB's. Good to see you with us Ed and great start with good numbers Other commitments kept me off the water but would have been good at Tinaroo with all that chop, you'd be in your element there Herb.
