Inverloch, VIC, AU

Decided to go at the last minute. Probably should have stayed home and worked! No wind all the way to Inverloch wasn't a good sign. Arrived and surprised to see the tree's swaying, Mick already rigged and Richard in the process of it. Hit the water 1/2 hr later and had half a dozen decent but short runs due to a extreme low tide. Stephen's 09 Futura111 felt quite nice but all I had was the stock Drake38cm fin to use. Not much planing after that. Packed and on the road home by 2pm.

LOCATION: ANGLING CLUB

WIND:  WSW 15 KNOTs DROPPING to <8 KNOTS, LOW TIDE

GEAR:  Excite Ride 135, 42 cm fin, KA Koyote 6.6 up to V8 8.0

SAILORS:  EJ, Madventure

DETAILS:  Well, it looked like it had promise.  I arrived before 8am and there was a ice solid breeze.  Rigged 6.6 and then Richie and EJ arrived.  By the time I hit the water it had dropped off and I spent the run off the plane.  Made the decision to come in and rig bigger.

As soon as I started to rig a rain shower came through, bringing with it the strongst wind of the day.  I totally missed it while I was rigging the v-8!

Got out and had a few planing runs but the wind lost its oomph soon after.

Evan, not bad 2sec with the drake fin, Alpha too. Well done. I'm glad your newer red beast is passing more fun. Laughing

It really needs a larger 40cm I think.

Evan, I use a 39cm Select SL7 mainly on the 111 and a 41cm SL9 for light course racing winds.

Fairly sure I'll be there, just a little concerned it may be too gusty/inconsistent. Only one way to find out I guess.

Stephen - thanks. Think I may go for a C3 Venon 40cm.
