A beautiful way to start 2011!! The wind was a bit disappointing as it promised so much more due to how hot is is in Sydney today but it was still great to be out in pristine conditions. Great to sail with lots of Cockies so we should at least be on the board for the first day of the year.

Kyeemagh, 10-20 knots NE

Starboard S-Type 126, Loft Switchblade 8.5, 40cm Curtis fin

Great day out on the water chasing Rexy up and down the runway. I had a few early runs across to Kurnell before the wind picked up onthe runway. A bit disappointing it didn't get up to 25 knots, but c'est la vie!

I'm pretty sure I saw Adrian and Alfamale out there too. Fun times, fun times.

NE 15-20, few holes in the wind but filled in nicely by the time Sam, Conan & Boss Man had left.

More lumpy & less wind than yesterday but still a great start to 2011

Starboard Formula 160, VMG K70, Race 700 NR, NP RSR 9.8

Wind a tad up and down and shifty too. More traffic on the water today and thus a tad bumpy. Still, a great sail with Sam and Seano. A very happy new years afternoon, just the start I was afterCool

Very gusty, what a nightmare place to sail in ENE. Very bumpy and heaps of traffic.

Great session after I eventually woke up.

Rigged my 6.5 expecting the NE to kick in a bit harder, but just as I finished it looked like the wind started to die off a bit,... so I rigged the 8.0. Ended up needing a whole pile of downhaul as there were some great gusts out there! Could have used the 6.5 some of the time but there were big holes.

Fastest speed I have ever achieved on my 8.0 Gun Booster (now more like 7.8 as I had it reshaped by the master at Barracouta Sails.

Hey Cockies!

I met LEO up the top and had a chat with him, and I am sure I saw many more of you. I was the one on the orange board and aqua NP hellcat who foolishly stuck to my small gear in the hope of it cranking in!! What colour sails were you guys running. I remember a large sparring with a large orange yellow sail.

Weird wind today, I was actually going OK on my small gear (6.2 and 92L board!!) if I stuck over near the runway, but I struggled to get back at the end!!

Cheers,

Adrian

Hi Adrian, I was on the big yellow sail - gave you a wave up on the runway. Pretty sure it was you - orange JP FSW. You were going great for the small gear!!

Hi Adrian, I'm the strange guy with the baldish head that was doin heaps of gybes in front of you and Leo whilst in the shallows while you two were having your little get together. Apologies but I have had shedloads of wine tonight and I'm lucky I can string a sentence together right now Tongue out

A great day today, I only wish I could do half of the distance Mike rips out with consistenty. Oh hang on, I DID do half the distance today!!! Ok, where did I leave my wine glass.......I love the holidays Cool

Hi Michael,

That was me on the JP FSW... I grew up in windsurfing with a small board and a 6m... it is amazing how much sailing you can do with just one sail and board if that is all you have... having fun in 12-25 knots. But I did have a 7.2 and larger board in the car.... so call it stubborness today!! :)

Rexy,

I know who you are now. I will try and catch for a chat sometime. Today was a low km day for me... I normally like to get in atleast 50 just so I can call it a fitness sport!! I have done over 100km a few times but not with consistency... and I am well wrecked afterwards. I think the FSW style board is great when conditions are up, but can be a bit full on for long sessions.... I need a more locked in board to go for big kms.

Great to see you guys!!

Cheers

Adrian
