In the Harbour for starters with 10-20 kts and bumpy water.

Used SL62 , Maui TR4 6.3, C3 Venom 38.....did 70km and the wind died so over to the Estuary for a few more kms.

For the Estuary used SL66, Maui TR3 7.0 and Techtonics Spitfire 40cm fin.

Harbour first CA 62  vector 36 carbon rocket.  TR 5 64 XT

Good sail round pretty rough up wind near the port, a bit light near the ramp.

Then to the eastury  CA 66 with new 36 sting.  TR 5   6.3  XT

Nice sail under powered a bit but setup is quick.  Like the new sting plenty of power and short good for shallow water.

Woke up at 3 am   sore  missed the sail this morning but will get out this arvo if its still windy

You guys are looking pretty solid this month - well ahead of all the Aussie teams anyway!

Hi Chris......

Very unusual for us to get sailable weather this time of year, almost summer wind patterns, very odd.

But we're getting cold toes doing it !

Hey Dan send me your file and I'll try and find the hour.

PS......Dan have you seen tomorrow's forecast, says morning almost gale nor east 30-50 kts ! Easing to 20kts pm.

No water in the estuary untl 3pm so will have to be the harbour.

You might have to bunk work and help us fix the mile tomorrow morningLaughing

Cheers,

          Mike

Not very big tides at the mo.......tomorrow is only 2.15metre high (seemed to be higher than that tonight) at 4.15am in the estuary,  so by sunrise (7.30am) would be getting pretty shallow, may be worth a try if you are desperate.Small fin would help.

We can only really improve on mile though so you would need to be up in the river mouth, and you need SE wind for that.

I'm (and Terry also) figuring to be on the harbour at low water (9.30am) so should be flatish, sea condition forecast is for very rough for tomorrow

Great going guys.

Where is all the Snow? Few weeks from middle of winter & you hardy Southern folk should not be out on the water at this time of the year!

Today up here in Auckland there was some wind....too much rain for sailing!

Hi Neil,

welcome back. I'll bet you're figuring how to make that trip an annual thing?

Will call tomorrow re picking up the goodies.

Yep, the distance was ok for this time of year and surprisingly hard work mainly due to dehydration. We both lost a couple of kilos (just like a big bike ride) and sure felt it the next day.

When we do this again have to take a camelbak.

After the session next morning I was totalled and had to go home and have a nanna nap afterwards.

Getting old !
