Dorans, TAS, AU

5.4 OD  IS86slim   32 Venom

Gusty & choppy. Had a lot of north in it. Followed the guys and did a few long runs over to Droughty Point and it was nice and flat over there. Haven't sailed the slalom gear for a while and felt like a total co-ord with the gybes.

Awesome sail with a fair few others! Started in the bay with a bouy set, doing some slalom training. Then moved on over to the sand bar late arvo. Nice to finally get a decent TOW!

Howrah, Derwent River. Have been so keen for so long to get the spot record for the Derwent! Been close so many times. Sailed off Howrah today on the IS86slim and R3 6.2. Bad conditions, wind going from 5 to 35knots (very bad for my 80L board). Got plenty of 26-30 knot runs in (in between the sinking) and right at the end of the session while I was a bit up wind a big squal came through, beared off and got 35.18 2 sec and 33.33 10 sec on my GPS! Stoked! Then the wind dropped right off and struggled to get back to Howrah for half an hour. So Stoked though!

Good fun day with heaps out. Pretty gusty and from the NW. As a very wise windsurfing friend of mine has said in the past, ""damn it missed the best of the wind"Undecided  Rigged the 5.6 R4 and tried out Fergs 80 litre ExocetSealed but wasnt windy enough. Then the  Isonic 90 but still the wind was up and down and underpowered. Rigged up the 7.0 with the Isonic 107 and new pre production C3 Viper 40cm. Fin felt great, it was like halfway between the sting 2 and the Venom. Had a fun sail on that gear doing some long runs out towards the river and back in. Have some video footage of Kaleb and Russ so hope to get that on Seabreeze tomorrow if the quality is ok.

A gusty bumpy sail turned out to be great fun when Russ pushed, pushed and pushed some more!!!!

Never thought my 78kg could control a 93 litre board with a 34cm fin in choppy conditions.  IS 90 is pretty dam awesome to rideSmile(2nd time on board)

Dorans, TAS, AU Good sail with quite a few of the team out today. Ended up being way overpowered with the 7.0 loft Blade.

New second hand JP 59 felt good.

Today supplied it all: Chop, flat sections, waves, catapults, air, speed, drag racing, ocean runs and most importantly wind!

Nice to be again after a lengthy hiatus due to injury and lack of wind
