Exocet RS4, TR8 6.6, JP 40 - Wind S 15-18 knots

Big turnout at Marmong for a pretty nice southerly.    Very short sail for me but good to catch up with everyone and have a few nicely powered runs.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Big forecast o a Sunday, huge turnout. I arrived early, 9.30am, & the carpark was full of guys & Sue who had arrived from 6am.

CA 44 speed board, 5.9, MUF17, first time out, managed to gybe it, yippeeee. RS1 6.6 19MUF later. The speed board was 1 knot faster, suppose thats why they call them speed boards.

Wind was good then up & down & later it came in strongly but I was stuffed so came in. Byron looked to be going for a record distance, wish he would lend me some energy. Muz came down with Nathan  but they left too early, Muz it was good later, the sun even came out. Sue was looking good in between rigging changes, hope I beat her.

15-25kts S Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU- 79ltre Falcon + 17cm delta + 6.4m Naish Bullit then 20cms delta

Arrived at 8.30 expecting to be the only one there but the carpark was  full! Frothie had arrived at 5am! Surprised Andrew c 6.30.. Well it was the best forecast we've had for months and finally over 20 kts of wind..As usual hard to line up a gust ion the flats.

Put the 17cm delta on as last sail the 20cms was grinding along the bottom. the Lake is up after rain so those areas were now calf deep and although pretty flat in parts not glassy. Delta was too small and after a few spinouts in the 4' - 1' chop I wasn't game to commit to the harness properly or place any pressure on it. I was also half asleep for the first hour & a half ( I hate mornings) but that's when I got the 2 sec.

Went in after 1.30hr and put the 20cm delta on.. Much better!Smile Grr should have had it on from the start. All about 2 sec today didn't do many gybes although did a few nice ones in the flats for photo times except ran out of wind so lousy exit speeds ( off the plane). I'll have to start practising alphas and a set of alpha gates would help!Tongue out Today I mostly just stopped and turned the board around out in the chop as I didn't want to lose ground downwind.

Sailed from c 8.30 to 2pm with a few short breaks..Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...Heaps out - Mat , Mick , Milsy , Andrew, Frothie, Troy , Greg K , Byron + a few others then later shift Nigel, Tibor , Bruce , Wayne..+ Artur , Murray, Nathan

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU RS2 exocet, TR11 Maui 7.7, 22 home made delta

also had a go on the CA44 and 6.6m in the midle of the day but not enough wind and it was hard work, still got the PB on it.

Managed to get over 36 with the slalom kit as well.

nice conditions for distance sailing but it was gusty which took some energy.

I only decided very late to go for a distance of 230 to beat my PB (thanks Mat we pushed each other) then I went for 250km and then why not get 300km. sailed the last 100km without stopping prety well.

Next time I should decide a bit earlier I am feeling realy good could do alot more KM only thing that was hurting was my hands they were sore.

Might be a diferent story tomorow but when I wake up, Drinking beer now so all good.

Great to see so many people out and many distance PB.

Unbelievable distance PB Byron - fantastic effort in such on and off conditons, my meagre  116 km is an unworthy backup (but just enough to top the monthly rankings)

What time did you finish?

Laughing Yep Nigel.. I think some of that trail mix would go down well..argh..zzzzz

Ah I feel better now.Embarassed  Looking at the photo my stance was crap and I knew I'd hit a lull but I just remembered when I came in the boom had dropped 5" down so that would help  explain it...+ 17 cm delta Undecided. I'll have to work at having my boom higher..One day I want to sail like Mat Cool ( Bryon etc...)

Thanks for the comments it was so nice having lunch together and just talking with every one we really are a close community of windsurfing friends. I feel ok today a bit sore and tired. I started I think at around 7 30 and sailed to 5 30 and had a decent break for lunch but I also had a go on speed gear as at that stage I was not going for km. With heaps more light after I finished as long as hands held up I could do a lot more but it was enough yesterday Going to do stuff all and play X box with kids today

Just a few pics I took from the shore after the sail. It was gusty in the flats so sorry they don't show how good you guys are.. More wind in the chop. If anyone wants better versions let me know.

These ducks were so cute! The ducklings were so tame they came right up to us- mum & dad were a bit suss..

Andrew wondering whether if was good enough to go back out ( he did). The ducklings were closer to us earlier.

Artur going out in the chop + wind
