Top Ten Fangy Day at last! I downed the pencils and calculator just after lunch to reward myself and went for the best sail I have had in a long time. I think we need to set up some sort crowd funding to send the muppet to Karrathastan more often. It seems to work a treat.

I chucked in the Party Barge and Fat Fangy Delta 22 on top of the crabs lurking in the shallows. I think they have been feeding on a jetskier’s lost stash of ICE, and as a result they are mental and full of angry beans. I decided my delicate tootsies were not up to another round with the crabs, so I had looked for somewhere to launch that required the minimal amount of walking on a low tide.

S -Bend and a run out through the  nearshore channel fitted the bill nicely. Final score; the crabs only got one hit. ( Shane arrived just as I was finishing up, and being a Nanna, I obviously didn't speak slow enough when I explained about the channel. I watched him walk through the channel, out the other side, and then trek for miles, kicking off crabs as he went, in order to get to some deep water - bloody funny to watch and that was a top ten day in itself) .

I digress. Back to the session. I am not sure if Huey was confused and thought the muppet was still in town, but as soon as he figured it out, the breeze picked up and I was overpowered on the Koncept 7.5. Of course my laziness is legendary, so I just enlisted all my momentum muscle ( all thanks to the work-outs at Hards Gym) and just sat down, hard, on the harness.

The end result was an absolute giggle. This was the fastest the Party Barge has ever gone. It’s impossible not to laugh when you have almost 10 foot of board out of the water charging downhill. My revised Fat Fangy Delta did the job and lifted the barge up nicely when I rolled her over a bit. I know it is not particularly fast but I guess it’s the same buzz you get when you go racing trucks.

So, not a long session, but brilliant fun. TTFD = Big smile on the dial :-)

Sailed a little too shallow Liptons. e

Enough wind for the 43 board and 5.8 sail, I wanted to try for an hour, so probably should have used a 23/24 cm fin, but because of the lack of water, and the abundance of flat stuff in the shallows, I went with the 17cm 50deg starboard assy, coped surprisingly well with the chop in the channel but it was hard work making ground.

Nice to sail with Firey after his travels, Sam also joined us again, along with Hardie, and as I came in I crossed paths with Paul.

Not a bad sacrifice Elmo, it was loads of fun!

Liptons: nice to sail in some stronger winds, gybing at 36knots of speed was fun did 2 of them, just way too wide for alphas, but should've kept doing them such a great feeling and way more fun than trying for high 2 sec peaksYell, will I ever learn that windsurfing is for fun first and foremostEmbarassed

Mistral speed 95/55, TR9 6.3m Pepeweed 22/48.  Started out with a delta 20/55 and kept spinning out at speed which killed the confidence, so went back and changed to the trusted pepeweed.

Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. was a major fizzle down here, one good run and that then it was pretty much all over. very disappointing. Spewing I wasnt able to get up  to Liptons.  Nice work Mike, Joe and Ross!

Liptons, Peel Inlet, WA, AU

A short but great sail, the tide was too low for me, maybe not but I didn't want to take chance with new board. A couple of times when looking for a spot to do a U turn I did just touch so that was warning enouth. I did watch Mad Mike and Sammy scream across the flats and was suitably impressed. Loving my new board, a definite improvment on my old 58 which I thought was the ducks nuts Smile

Great to catch up with old faces, last sailed here begining of March.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Arrived nice and late. Had a quick chat with Stroppo, who was on call and not sailing and Firie who was just finished. Then as quick as I could on to the water. Very shallow for Liptons but plenty of flat water to be had if you risked the shallows enough.  Lots of Kiters out too.  Everybody was getting off the water just as I was going on. Great day though, just loads of powered blasting, and my second best speed ever with a GPS and 3 scores in my top 5 today,  Huge uncontrollable smile on my face. Got off the water after 6:30.  I hope everybody else had a good time too.

Elmo, sensational work my friend. Keep it up for as long as you can, I mean, we probably will miss you, sort of. But blimey Huey isn't half happy that you buggered off. Slugger, if the boys want to take up wake boarding, behind the Party Barge is place to be 😜😄

Impressive hour Captain! Very disciplined, as planned. Didn't have the self-dicpline to stay out of the shallows myself and had a few walks back to the deeper water.

Thanks everybody for the nice comments. I've just been having lots of fun, and very happy that some of the windiest days have lined up with the weekends and I've been there to enjoy them.

Nice to try and push the team score up a bit too.

Another great team effort with some really good numbers posted by all which is a nice bonus to all the fun you guys had. Oaf really sweet u-turn to go with the great speed numbers & Fangy top Norty of the day, looks like when the Party Barge gets going that momentum is hard to stop!

Forecast looking ok for getting a couple of sails in down here later this week.

Wow Mobsters.....smoking numbers. Great stuff !

My Capt'n, youse clearly back from your bung shoulder stuff.....glad to see that. And your Minions have done well too...

Fangy, whilst not at the absolute top of the speed class , due mainly to the gross tonnage of the vessel and crew that you are helming, always great to hear  you had a Top Ten Fangy One. I've sourced a tree and lights for the Barge's Christmas Outing. Plug and Play stuff.

'ken....awesome speeds in the twilight and this'll be your speed season for sure. Firie, glad to hear that you've dusted off the boardies ( did you check the gusset for silverfish damage? Don't want any unexpected emergence.) and I expect to see some droning on and on from you over the water. See if you can dive bonb Fangy. Hards, your usual high speed runs always set the pace for the pack to chase and Stretch, sorry Glory Holes wasn't as good as usual. Sammy, mon ami, tres vite as usual.....hope you have a good sailing summer.

My speed sailing has had a bit of a hiatus since moving to the Gold Coast. Accordingly I have been looking for light weather things to fill the new ammunition limber with.......speaking of which..... I know it's not up to 'ken's standard but bear in mind that it was originally built as an aid to the invasion of Poland. You just can't get quality like this nowadays. The photo shows me emerging from the lounge area having just confirmed that the Porta Loo was indeed plumbed correctly.

Party Barge, Fangy....pfft.....Item I is a totally free, genuine,  watertight, Wally Windsurfer with 2 sails ( matching collar and cuffs too), boom, mast and mast foot. The clear panels on the sails are.....well....clear. Woo Hoo! Unfortunately the Wally 1 won't fit in the trailer ( a minor problem) but can be hoisted on to the roof with only a few people helping and only requires a single escort vehicle whilst on the road in Queensland. Firie, please note that copious amount of Coopers can be stored internally so you'll never go short.

My maiden sail on Wally yesterday and, even if I say so myself, the antique combination of Wally and I drew some admiring looks from the chickybabes on the foreshore.....

....well, you've either got it or you ain't.Undecided   Help me out here Fangy!

Wazza, did you have the GPS with you? Interested to see your speeds. Would guess I've have peak speeds around 8 knots on one of those. I want to see some numbers, not just photos of the beach hotties.

Ok having recovered from the 'beach hottie', I now understand why the 'WazzaWagon of Love' has no windows. Surprised

I am lovin the super light weight foot straps on the beast. The bar is now set at 10 knots...will await track data.

Great to see you back on the water Sam & it looks like you haven't lost the knack of being able to crank out some good numbers. You pinched the best NM of the day off Fangy but I'm sure he'd be pleased to swap it for a Jellybean instead.
