Great day in the Lagoon.  We've had bugger all seabreezes so far this year so todays 5 hours of breeze was very welcome.

Sandy Bay, TAS, AU  IS 115, Gator 6.5, Rockit 38. Went for a cruise but wind died after a couple of runs across the river. After packing up and eveyone else had gone home I started to wonder what had happenned to Steve as his car and trailer were at Sandy Bay all afternoon but he was nowhere to be seen. He eventually turned up after a long walk back from a serious downwinder - well done on the big day and the 1 hour Steve, great stuff!

Nice powered up seabreeze. Now I've got a feel for 1 hrs in the pond, I'll leave alpa's and 2 sec's to the pond and go for 1 hrs in places with long stretches. So should have gone for more speed runs today. Great to be out in the sun, sea and wind today, perfect summers day.

Steve, just watched your tracks.  Thats a serious effort for the day, nice work.  I nearly did Frederick Henry, was going to get picked up at Lauderdale but decided on the Lagoon instead. Looks like you were lucky to make it back to where you did.Cool

Hey Kaleb cheers. I told you I was learning from the 1hr master OBi One Buzzy. Happy with it but as always thought it would have been higher and at least in the 25s. It was a huge day and the river was as usual choppy as shit. After I tacked up wind I had a ball as soon as I got out of the Derwent and inside the Opossum Bay part that takes you up to Mortimer/South Arm. Didnt go up very far but the wind was honking in there and I think it has some big potential in that SE direction. Wind started dropping off very quickly at the end of the 1hr and took over an hour to get back up to Manning Reef and thats as far as I made it. Then a 1km WALK OF SHAME back to the car, drank a beer and drove back to get my gear. BIG thanks to wing man Tim for looking out for me, thanks mate. Good day but the river is bloody hard work and thats one the hardest 1hrs I have done.....

Steve, check your distance - you seem to be 12-18 km too low. It looks like you posted results from the GW-60, and your total distance on the GW-52 and GT-31 tracks is about 12-18 km higher (depending on whether or not you set a speed minimum).

I had noticed that your hour is darn good, especially for a 30-knot top speed, so I looked at the tracks. Both the GW-52 and the GT31 come in at 139 km on ka72.com and GPS Action Replay.

Hey Peter thanks for the info. Not sure why the watch has much lower KMs. I just reposted as the 1hr wasnt much different on the different GPSs.

Steve, looks like the watch stopped recording the first time you slogged on your way back up to the start. Maybe you accidentally pressed the GPS button after checking your speeds? Or perhaps the battery ran out? Unlike the GT31, the short battery life the watch has means forgetting to charge it between sessions can cause problems. Has happened to me a couple of times..

Thanks guys. Hey Peter you are on the ball. I just remembered the battery did go flat as soon as I finished the 1hr. So as you said none of the distance recorded after that. At least the watch is working properly. Cheers.
