Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU

25-35knots NE wind generally, 20-30knots in the weed banks.

Finally, I cracked the 40 peak in those amazing weed beds - and it was in large part thanks to Keef's super weedie fin! Thanks Keef - legend.

Mallacoota, Victoria.

Another awesome fun session at the Sands with Isaac and and Old Codger.  It looked like the wind had died when we got there and I was struggling just to get planning for the first 20 mins. Then the wind freshened and it was all good again. Got to 20-23 knots at the end with very rare and short puffs to 26 knots. I was maxed out on the 6,2m again and wishing I had bought the speed board and 5.8m.

I did a science observation when I was out there and marked the water depth on my leg, just below the knee caps. When I got home I measured it and was surprised to find it was 30-40cm deep in most of it. I still don't think I could have saild with deeper than a 20cm fin, but it has me wondering.....

I tried for a lot of Alphas and was pleased to have got a few 25's in the end.

My best top speeds were in the last 15 minutes when the wind was at the strongest

Had a few more crashes going for Alphas when I guess I pushed the fin too hard on the turn in and it spun out. Much to Gary's amusment! Laughing

NNE to NE wind. It looks like the wind here, on this direction, is less than at Sanctuary Point. Gabo Is was 30 to high 30's while we had slightly more than 10 knots less.

Great fun spot!

He he James. Nah, I wasn't keen on another 7 hours of driving on top of 20!

Great conditions for it! Huskisson was 30-35 knots yesterday!

Drag racing with Issac before the wind filled in. Probably around 16-18 knots here:

I tried to upload the video but it didnt work. Back to this link then:

From your tracks Andrew that wind looks a bit square, would it be better with a bit more North, or a bit more East?

I little more East would be better, and probably blow stronger. Tongue out The water stays remarkably flat though as you bear away, as it is so shallow, but it could get a lot rougher in 30 knots.  Hoping to try it on a true North Easter soon. The best speed conditions will be with the big WSW gales though. I hope this drenching does not raise the water level in the lake too much.

The direction we had is perfect for Alphas though. Laughing
