Thanks everyone for your comments it was truly amazing doing that speed on that gear I knew it was a special run felt fantastic and terrifying at the same time. One shot is all I got timing is everything it just all came together. has to be west if it’s nw it’s choppy or to much to the south no wind at all behind the point. It’s a point with trees and grass so does block the wind but can give a fantastic 50m run of fun flat water and just over the hill from home.we should all explore more places of potential for the love of going fast.

Er, to my knowledge, you cant cheat KA72? You upload your raw file and it spits out the numbers. Byron had every right to claim it. Everyone I know uses this method to post. I guess it highlights that there is an issue with the KA72 software at times. (highlighted by others on SB previously) Not Byrons fault. Actually, this is a good example of the GPSTC sytem working well. Someone requested the file get looked at, it was, and the error was identified. As Greg said, the file was always public. No one cheated nothin! Still, nice of you to drop by and spread some sunshine around, John.Laughing

My GT31 shows 40.6 Yes I have a photo of it and have showed everyone KA72 dropped it down to 40.3 that’s normal. The run is very short so you come in over chop then hit the flat and accelerate like a bat out of hell then have to jybe before going behind the headland no wind so I expect to see exactly what I am seeing on the file exactly and yes it shows 40 plus. I only ever use KA72 with my raw file for everyone to see I have and never will cheat I am doing it for fun , I just love going fast. Happy Easter and enjoy windsurfing if your allowed too.

Its fuckin sunny over here today boys........

Give me a B.... Y....R.....O.........N.........

and now you guys form a human prymaid or something..........

Byron so fuckin what?????

My GPS has had 300kt peaks, I just post it, and if no one pulls it up then its not cheating

Rick had every right not to post through KA72, heaps of people don't........

Rick was never caught cheating!!!!!!

Lets be real about Rick, 30yr statesman of NSW sailing, broken 40kts back when breaking 30kts was good, his done it at most bodies of water in NSW, been kind, inspirational to many sailors..............whats the problem?????

Byron on the other hand was caught cheating, and team capt Fagley was cool and complacent with it, the committee had to remove posts and remind team(again) to play by the rules.......way worse than Ricky......

Just mean, nasty, sad jealous driven bullshit which resulted in a 30yr statesman of NSW sailing being shat on by this team, and eventually opting out, and taking with him some great NSW sailing history and commitment with him....

Posting through KA72 does not take the onus of the team rider or capt to check files or use commonsense.....

This team acts like Byron could post anything and its cool......

Just have to accept the facts, Byron has had many posts edited, removed, used knowningly an incorrect device.......that one was gold, because I kicked his super sponsered, super dicked suxed arse that month.....

No point in sticking up for it all the time, sometimes a monster ego can cloud logic........

I dont think Byron should be banned for life but the difference in outcome between his cheating compared to speculation around others cheating is quite different.......

So in this example, Byron posted a public file, nobody on his team called it out, it was found to be inaccurate, and as far as this team is concerned if no one called it out, it would be fine........thats cheating...........

All bullshit aside, Byrons an okish person, just has had a lot of posts edited, and some removed...........not his fault, not this teams fault, Mlsys fault

ha, DAfuck you know I enjoyed this catch up............

The Statesman never caught cheating ?  Let me see . I remember numerous occasions when his files were being requested after a  40 plus session just quicker than everyone else . Then have his results drop all of a sudden by a few knots or the post dissapears all together ? Never a file uploaded so anyone can check it . ZERO transparency . So we should just bow to the BOSSMAN . So Miller was a great catch up after all these years of waving at you and saying gday to you on the water and you pretending not to  see or hear .

  • Totally agree with you on Rick, John, but disagree with you on nearly everything else. I'm sure James would have checked the track in good time but likely has better things to do than wait for Byron to upload on a Saturday night. (Fagley? What are you 12 years old?) I imagine you run all your (and your team mates🤣) tracks within minutes of every session through all available software platforms? You calling Byron a cheat is as ridiculous as people calling Rick a cheat. Both of them have no need to cheat as they would towel up most sailors 99% and have done so for years.

Oh you guys getting nasty.......

Boston just says it different but for me, your not above the bullshit you throw as well

Just pointing out that its disappointing that this team has had yet another post edited after outside of this team had to point it out......

Also saying, Rick has been a great sailor, a great guy, a fair dinkium ambassador for NSW Slalom, speed and GPS sailing over the last 30 yrs, I find it necessary to remind this team that has been quite cruel to him regarding his sailing, probably one of the dearest things in his life, that this team has in fact a real history of posts beening removed, edited and also just down right cheating, eg posting with in correct device, tis as not done by beginners but by a very supported competive member of this team........

Zero Transparency as opposed to zero responsibility??????

You guys know posting publicly through KA72 is not a free for all, still have to check solid results etc......

If it hits the rankings and others have to call it out its not really being cool, cheating? mistake? whatever..........happens a few times???

Hey, its a shame you feel that wat Greg, Steve, had a really enjoyable few years sailing with my man Micky, then you guys strated showing up Canton, then we developed Budgy, which opened the door for a good commitment to GPS sailing

In the early days, just me, Micky, Ol pete, Lance, Todd, Big Mark, Nigel, ha,,,we really just sailed for fun and competene, we didn't have that lake Mac history of more competitive higher level sailing

So it was cool, Greg, Byron, Hugh were marvelous sailors, a alot more srious about it, with good gear etc,,,We bought into that, all tried hard, with a bit of competitiviness for a few yrs, it was ggod and realy enjoyable time for me and Micky, then disrespected started to form, people are drug fucked etc, stoked to rip us off when we thought we were friends????  Wrong!!!!My man Micky went a different way and now has had some real health issues, he may not be able to windsurf again, I would love to have another nice 12to 20kt, NE Budgy, flat, sunny, just a golden arvo with him, he was a great sailor, very smooth, stylish and became a great speed sailor as well, over 41kt, I always looked up to Big Micky!!!!

He actually sailed very upright with waist harness, short lines, so it was a lot of strength as opposed to leverage with his style, thats why he would fatigue, after an hr, quite a hard arm style of sailing....

Miss Ya Micky!!!!!!

It was through Micky and his big heart that I knew any of you, without him, I wouldn't know any of you......

I had a sweet memory of that day at Harrington, that was a great day in my life!!!!

C ya boys

Byron was not accused of 'cheating' by anyone at all. It was a simple and understandable situation. 99.9% of the time we can trust KA72 to come up with the right results.

In this case, the KA72 filter appears to have missed or misapplied the error limits.

The screen display on a GPS is only as accurate as the data recorded by the GPS. If the data is wrong, so is the display.

Sorry I have a life so don’t download everyone’s files and analyse with a fine tooth comb. I’ve asked admin (whoever they are?) to take this up with ka72. If they are rejecting tracks uploaded to ka72 (apart from Garmin etc) then there’s a bigger problem that needs to be addressed.

I've requested a few things from Dylan, some things he's agreed to right away, but other stuff he doesn't do. If you guys want KA72 to change, don't rely on GPSTC admin to be able to do it. It would be good if somebody else apart from us could point out this example and how much bad blood it can cause.

Dylan has told us, he users the accuracy results in his filters, if so they must be loosely set.

This is a hard one to call though, this is the results from GPSspead reader with default SDoP filters set to +/- 2

The top graph is speed the bottom one SDoP

So this only just makes it within the +/- 2 limit, but the 2s comes out at +/- 2.64, an extreemly iffy score.

If we drop the SDoP filter to 1, so that the sudden deteriation of accuracy is excluded we now get this

So this result is now +/- 0.58 That's much better and we can be sure of it.

If on the other hand we set the SDoP to 3

we get this

the 40kts right in the middle of the worst accuracy giving +/- 2.893Kts. Nobody can prove either way how close Byron was to this speed, it's just too inaccurate.

For what it's worth, looking at the tracks and acceleration curves this point here is OK

It's just before the signal goes bad, there is a nice even curve leading up to the 38.41, it's very eay to believe the next point could be a high 38.

I'm reasonably confident Byron got at least a 38.5

The question in my mind is why the inaccuracy peaked at the same time as the top speed??? The Gt31s worn on the upper arm can slip around the arm and face downwards, that could easily cause this problem. The acceleration was very high at this point, that and chop could have caused the unit to slip.

This is why it's a good idea to wear 2 GPSs, the data can then be checked. Or wear a logger on the head, that's the best way to get reliable highly accurate data.

Wow just wow Whilst lying down in my hospital bed for last few days in pain with broken wrist and broken T3 vertebrae in neck I realise how lucky I am to have great friends and family. Had a stick get stuck in front tyre sending me over the handlebars on my push bike.no sailing for me for some time but I will be back. I normally wear two devices wish I had so I could have stopped this in its tracks. I have not commented on Rick and will not I don’t do that kind of stuff. The run was crazy quick it all lined up you have to know the story wind dropped inwent in for some lunch.wind had been nw which gives no flat water. With no wind water was flat then wind came in hard from the west perfect angle I got out and lined up the run with what was a 35 knots pushing hard over chop you come in flat water it was unreal and will probably take another 20 years to line everything up like that again. I knew it was special and not surprised to see over 40 last couple of seconds was insane then you jybe before running out of total wind.as wind settled in water got a bit choppy and then direction not great. I am offended by your comments John just an outright lie you are the one that looks like a sore looser. Life is short enjoy it and be happy you don’t know what’s around the corner. I have had a terrible 1.5 years but I am remaining. Positive and will work hard to sail again one day.

In your case it was unreprenting, you just couldn't give a fuck

Eg, you done 40 in open water....but you didn't, it was a weed bank, which you would have been happy not to share if Dowse didn't post your tracks.....cause your full of it, all the fuckin tuime

Everyone of the people on this team over the yrs have all cried about leaving the team, fuck this team they say, fuck the Byron and Greg show...

You cant hear him, cause all you can hear is yourself, but Gods been telling you to fuck offf from sailing for yrs, he gave you power, but you became a shit show,  so now he gunna fuck you up a lot........

You should change, go do things for others...... maybe God will remove his curse on you.......

Did you post with an incorrect device?

Did you do it knowningly?

Where you told to remove the posts?

did you remove them or refuse?

Did the committee step in and remove them for you?

Have you had a heap of other posts EDITED?

Who else in NSW sailing has had the committee remove thier posts or had as many edited as you???

Shut the fuck up........

See, for you is wierd that someones calling you out, because all used to is having your bitch arse kissed......

YOUR A LIAR!!!!!!!!

Also thanks for taking up hospital resources while doing your usually essesitinal selfish shit....

Do yourself a favor, go do something kind for someone else for no other reason but just too be kind and unselfish........

Still, I assume with you out, NSW will be back to zero posts edited or emoved......

Man you've always been a spoilt disrepectful fuck to me, I would have gladly hurt you years ago but someone I love asked me to let you slide...

Its always fuck you from you to everyone, having to literally tell you not to take up all the car parking spots only to be met with a sigh, But I'm fuckin byron

having to tell you to show consideration to other sailors, only to hear, yeah but Im fuckin training their not they should move......

You are a spoilt bitch that should have slapped back into reality years ago........fuck it, God gunna crush you brother, and you will just be sitting there thinking about poor ol Byron.......I'm going around to get high with Micky.........ENJOY THAT!!!!!
