45 days ago Grassy Pt, Corpus Christi. We were to impatient today to wait for the wind to pick up after 3, so I went out with the 7.0, which was fine in 23 mph and then 25-26 a bit later. But it was a bit too large in the mid-30 gusts we got in the second half of the session. I did not help that it was too choppy to go deep, except at one part which we discovered only at the end of the session. Wind direction was a bit more easterly than usual, and water levels higher, to the usual flat spots were choppy today. There's some weed growing at places, but under 25 cm of water, it does not reduce the chop. Would have used the 6.3, except that mine is still broken, and there's no sail repair in Corpus Christi anymore. I tried to by a second fat extension at WorldWinds, but Chinook and Duotone decided to only make 2-pulley extensions anymore (Chinook used to have 3-pulley SDM extensions years back). That just won't do with the Loft Racing Blades. Next time, I'll just have to swap the cams in Nina's 6.3 so I can use it with an RDM. So far, she's been happy with her 5.6 from 22 averages all the way to 36 mph gusts, so she may not use it at all, anyway. Sunny, windy, and fun, but I'm missing a few knots speed that should have been possible.

43 days ago Bird Island, Corpus Christi. Coros speeds: 31.599 / 29.857 / 16.065 / 17.825 / 27.849 /64.588
Top alpha in GPS Speedreader is 22.442, but that's a Coros artifact in a crash or stop or big lull, where the speed remained frozen first at 23.995 knots for 7 seconds, and then at 21.2 knots for 6 seconds, before dropping to 3.59 knots. During this time, positional speeds during this time drop steadily from 25 knots to 5 knots. That's a nice example of artifacts seen with the Coros watches which make it not suited for posting here.
Peter posting and commenting for Al. While the Coros watch has it's obvious problems, especially with alphas, it's usually close to Al's ublox GPS, and it's nice to have a record for comparison.
