Melville

Light, late seabreeze... hit the water 4:20 for a bit less than an hour. Nice!

8.5m Apache 128 Radix 44cm clsl1. Great fun burning around on my pat malone. Sailed over to Pt Walter to see if there was more wind there, got one nice gust and saw a few others but the water was all chopped up by various power boats doing circle work. Had to be home 5:30 so headed back and the wind was already backing off by then.

So happy to have a good 8.5m this year! Its been getting a workout this year.

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Breeze came in late but fresh, so I missioned down to Peli at 4.

It looked solid, so I rigged the 7.0 with the AEON 550.

Got on the water around 4:40 and I was lit, in a solid 18-23K.

After three powered up bearaways I pulled the trigger on a mile, which was heaps of fun, and a foil PB  but it left me a long way downwind in a fading breeze.

I spent the next hour working my way back upwind, mostly slogging, with the occasional flight, as the breeze backed off to 15K.

Finally scored a bit of pressure to get me back to base, but I was running the gauntlet heading upwind across Peli Point on a low tide.  Sure enough I ran aground and came a gutsa 

Foil appears OK, apart from some inevitable scuffing on the front wing, and I think the foil box is still intact, so I might have gotten away with it.  I'll have a closer look tomorrow.
