3936 days ago Stanley, TAS, AU, Went to west inlet at high tide to do a nautical mile. Wind was 22knt average, gusting to 30.
Rigged the 6.5 on the Mistral 95 and headed off at a fairly broard angle, half way along the first run the boom broke in half.
Spent the next hour getting blown to the shore, at times the vis was down to about 30/40 metres because of the rain and wind.
Derigged in someones back yard, and walked back along the shore to get my car. I will get a 30knt nautical mile here one day...

Very very broad speed session today, chop coming down the run, until the wind swung a little and flattened out a tad. Nice to get some good runs! Was on track to a even better 5x10sec av, but couldn't find anymore gusts!

Thought I was going to suffer a bit today after spending the last week in Broome, but today was not the slightest bit cold for winter
Good speeds Izaak in that rolling slop.
Bad luck Cookie I nearly came up to Stanley but forecast looked better for PS but ended up very broad.

Warm and windy in the middle of winter, with a northerly wind and about 18 degrees (felt warmer). Tide was quite low when I went out, so no runs along the causeway, but pretty windy with some good sections of reasonably flat water. Was trying for NM's, but there seemed to be two sections of wind and water state (flat) and between them a really choppy section due to the incoming tide I think. Hit the choppy section at about 34 knots once and came a cropper (end of that run)! A lot of fun with a small window of 2hrs to go for a sail between work commitments.
Sailed: iSonic 86, 6.2 Reflex4 and Viper 32
Conditions: mostly 18-20, gusting to 25-30knots.
