Crazy wind today - one minute there was not enough wind to move forward, the next, there was a wall of mist as the wind ripped the surface of the water off. There were times when I saw this mist roaring across the lake, and had to jump off the board and sink the sail.
I spent most of the day practicing my look of sheer terror.
We had a huge mix of sailors today from as far south as Eden and up to the mid north coast. Illawarra Speedsters, ACT Gustbusters, Cockroaches, Pit Crew and Mid-North Coast Marauders. Not bad for a Tuesday

Well that was fun!! Been so long I took a PD day to go sail. Great spot, great people and bloody windy in the gusts. Not as cold as expected and sunny all day. Took out the Falcon 79 at first as the wind didnt look super strong but scored a 38.37. So went in and changed to the new Falcon Speed 50 (huge thanks to Sam at Windsurfnsnow for letting me try his new baby). Couldnt believe how easy it popped onto the plane and went upwind sweet as.
Felt nice bearing off hard, acceleration is awesome. Such a sweet board to sail, rapt!!!!!!!!!!
Had some great runs with the boys doing big bearaways with some scary chop and lots of weed islands, good fun. Spent a bit of time extracting myself from the shallows but beautful conditions. Heading back I was withing 50 metres of the launch and got the sail ripped out of my hands, got flung big time and hit the water and bottom doing nearly 35 knots. Ribs are badly bruised and Hugh had a front row seat.
Great to catch up with Mick, Millsy, Wysey, Hugh, Frothie, Sue, Bill etc.
Falcon 79, Falcon Speed 50, Evo V 5.8, custom weedy 19.
