Antman (34831km): ![]() Early start with Rob for the best of the wind. Boz rocked up as the wind peaked but missed out for a toilet run. Later joined by slugger ,warricle, Decrepit,Gloria and Maree. Powered by the 7.0 EVO,59 ISO,20 DS.
Dangermouse (19279km): ![]() Pelican Point, WA, AU Quick squirt at Peli on a W/SW. Gloria dropped by to say hello on her way back from Coods. Powered by: Falcon 118 + 7.8 Loft RB + 32 WeedMax
Slowboat (54570km): ![]() Melville 7.7m 128 38MK3 WSW front, not super windy but timed it perfectly. First run was fastest- saw 37.4 on the dial in the middle of the river. yeehar. Spent most of the session doing long slalom runs across the river with Rowan. Did a few more downwind squirts at the end. Water was really nice in the middle-chop was lining up so you could lock in and send it. Alpha was taking out Rowan on a gybe over at Mosman Park side in the chop Good to see Scott, Dan and Steve(s) hitting the water.
Flex (23664km): ![]() South Yunderup, WA, AU. Wasn't really planning on sailing but more experiments...by the time those done was 1pm but still enough wind for a sail. Went out on the magic carpet machine but was too sketchy in the small chop so in to swap the the smaller board. Managed to strip the brass nut but after much nashing of teeth managed to bash it out and replace. By the time this was done the wind had eased off more. Weedburg city and tide very low...came across a very limestone section and ground another cm off the fin..the wind also decided to drop to barely planing so that was it. Shoulda started earlier. iSonic117, iSonic97, SvT9.6, FF18V4, FF22(18)
Pointman (30594km): ![]() Rockingham Beach, WA, AU Well that was a bit of a debacle Got down to Rocko around 1. I went past Foilville initially, planning to sail the river, but there was no parking! Got on the water 2ish with the 750 wing + 8.0. First run off the beach I heard a crack and then my board trim was rubbish...the foil bolts had bent and the foil canted forward 4 degrees! Went ashore to reset the foil mast with new bolts, and changed the wing to the 550...Huey said yeh nah. After half an hour plodding I upsized back to the 750 wing, and the wind booted to 18-22K. One run out and I was way overdone, so I gybed and headed back in...got pretty lit on that run for my peak speed. Thought the breeze was in for good, so I changed down to the 7.0 + 550. I should have waited 5 minutes, cos the wind dropped back to 8m weather soon enough. Sat and waited, hoping it would boot again, but by 4:30 it was clearly done. If I'd just stayed on the 750 + 8.0 all day I might have managed a decent sesh, but I was in too much of a hurry to change down! Lesson learned...in shifty westerlies stay the course

. Most fast racing gybes are not high alphas because if they register you are going upwind hard out of the gybe and crossing over path quickly, or if its a downwind course its not registering as an alpha.
