Billy (10673km): ![]() Green Island, QLD, AU A very noice day indeed on the Island with the Doc and B2 - warm summery sky's, wind (although lighter than I had orginally anticipated) and an absolute plethora of wildlife out the the reef flats. Baitfish by the gizillion, Turtles, GT's, Reef Sharks - worth the price of admission just on its own !!! 15/16 kts most of the day, kicking in a bit stronger late in the arvo when B2 and I were on the bus home - leaving The Doc to enjoy it by himself. Had to raid the shed on arrival. My anticipated 20 kts never eventuated and therefore, my 90lt RRD never left its board bag. So got that forecast wrong. Never mind, we adjusted and a cracking day it was. When this place turns it on, it's ON ......tides perfect, played across the flats all day. Used: Futura 111 Wood, 36 Tribal Mk1, 7.0 ODMk1 - well worth the effort and for a change, left my teeth in my head this week

Benny McCarthy (15255km): ![]() Green Island, QLD, AU Super fun half sesh out on the Green seas with B1 & Dr Cam! Originally packed the smaller gear, but decided on a last minute change to the quiver packing bigger instead as the actuals were dropping early am. Very pleased to have done so as it ended up being way below forecast... That being said, GI is the gift that just keeps on giving!!! Absolutely beautiful sunny day, crystal clear water, wildlife a plenty & a cracking neapish tide just made it so worthwhile! Couldn't quite crack the 30 today but chuffed with the NM B1 looked happy as a pig in poo scooting about on the reef flats on the Futura & the Doc was doing what he does best- showing us how it's done, charging upwind and cranking back, catching every little "lucky gust" as always... Just another all smiles on dials kinda day in Tropical Far North Queensland! Used the Jag 125, Severne 7.8 OD, Tribal 35 "Long May our Big Jibs Draw!"

dr cam (41801km): ![]() Green Island, QLD, AU Nice Day on Green Is with the family -staying over for the first time in a while . Not a lot of wind but the odd nice gust coming through around 17-18 knots & a solid base of 14-15 knots I would reckon . Sailed with B1& B2 who looked to be having a ball ...!! Used the RRD xfire 108 Warp 7.7 Tribal SW 35 then tribal delta 22 ( at low end of the tide ) Body felt fine today but hands gave out at the 60 nm mark so I retired for a 3 hr nap..!! (Getting old I fear ) Love this place/Love this sport ..!! Nice PB Benny -many more to come this year I'm predicting ..!! | ||||||||||||||||||
Eddy (24342km): ![]() Port Douglas, QLD, AU Late afternoon 'chop hopping' session with my wing man Andrew.Had a strong tide running 11 to 15kts of breeze.Andrew has been training hard and sailed really well and was hard to catch in the choppy sea on his big fox and a powered up 8.6m rig..He gets man of the match.. I sailed till the sun went down on 120fox no cam 7.8m..looks like Gi was the place to be well done guys.. |
